need some opinions. Here's my specifics...

I have a Diamond Audio D5 1200.1 amp (1437@1).

I am looking for STRICT SQL.

I am fiberglassin my spare tire area, so its going to be sealed. I have about 2 cubes on a rough estimate.

give me your thoughts 3512 or rl-p?

Well, I didn't read anywhere that you said you wanted a sealed box. Is your 2 cubic feet NET or GROSS? If it's Net, you can slap a 3512d in it. If it's Gross, you can go with a 3510d ported and actually get some volume out of that space. If you go sealed, really, you are just pissing in the wind if you want it to get loud. .02

Another killer option you have is to go with a pair of DD's 1008a subs in a vented box. That will put you at a DCR of 1.75 ohms which should be just-cruizing on that amp. Either one will be fun but the two eights are always a jaw dropper when folks check it out.

Im not gonna port.

as far as sealed, it will get loud but it will also be more accurate. I have had ported before and I didnt like it at all.... its not me.

Had both subs. Both in the same box 2cu. @ 34hz. the rl-p has a smoother sound than the DD and more musical. listening to Black eyed peas was more pleasing with the rl-p for instance. Now the DD will get louder with the same or even slightly less power than the rl-p anywhere from 700 watts up. The dd has a stroner sound than the rl-p and give you that hit you in the back feeling. but also I had both of the subs in a hactback. I would say for you go with the rl-p or two rl-i 10s

i wuold say dd. it sounds like you werent giving them enough power. you really need more power for those than 700 watts. i think that the 3500's are one of the most musical sounding woofers i have heard to this day. it doesnt only play deep, or only high, it is a very well balanced speaker.

then you stick with that. you need to change the thread name to Need SQ Only, cause a 12 in a 2 cubic foot sealed box does not get loud. so there is no SqL in that equation.
sealed boxes can get very loud, they arent just sq only. you need to quit giving shitty advice and sit back and learn something.
