DD 1008a repair

What is the best way to go about having my DD 1008a repaired? It has a hairline crack about 1/3rd of the way around the basket which I failed at repairing with JB Weld. Something is also hitting or scratching when I push the cone down... I think something is just misaligned from the basket crack. The voice coils have a good reading - never abused these power-wise just mishandled it when moving things around.

I know DD does recones but didn't know if it would be best for me with the cracked basket, and the fact that the 1008a was discontinued.

DD will be able to replace the basket for you and recone it. You would have to call/email and get a quote. It might just be better for you to just buy a new 1508. In fact, that's what I'd do.
