dc xl 12s, dd9512g stock 8 inch dust caps no super charge

Thats a pretty big price gap, put that DD up against a 5

AQ and DD are both SPL orientated.. DC can produces nice tones also. Well until you get to the Level 5 and good god level 6

Dude dds have great sq I have the 12s I got them from the dude after he sold his prix and they hit clean and low they peaked at 37 hertz and sounded excellent doing it

Anything below a 9500 series DD is more SQ oriented than SPL, imo. Even at that, 9500 can sound pretty good in the right enclosure.

Ive only heard them in SPL set ups. So I will take your word on that one, but you cant justify the AQs. Ive heard daily and SPL

I wouldnt say that, maybe the 1500s.

Not trying to justify the aqs don't like em in every other car but mine they were loud I had 12s 15s and 18s never got em loud therefore I don't like em lol

I was looking into DD but the price and needed air space turned me off..

The problem in this thread is we are trying to compare very nice, very similar drivers.. DD and DC have had build issues as well as everyother builder that lays human hands on a product. People that like DC will **** on DD and so forth. But in reality they are both top notch subs, the main difference is the needed space

To answer your post in the icon thread....I like a certain kind of bass that I myself would call LSQ lol. Basically the opposite of SQL with sq being first priority. As far as dc goes I think that they have begun to slack off lately now that they have attained a popular name. That being said I have had my experiences with dc and not all have been bad. The last 2 subs I bought from them have been a night and day difference from the older stuff tho

are you sure, the magnet on the XL is larger then the lvl 4s`

smae motor upgraded suspension and coil.The same coil and suspension on a level 5.
