There are similarities no denying. They are also diff. Get a pr and use your calipers and fea program and you will see they are not the same.
Not really. Most people hate on DC due to the stark contrast between their dealer pricing and direct pricing. At least that's my reason to..I just don't see it being very ethical. Maybe you should look at it as why they are so popular on SMD vs other sites...same thing with AA subs. Of course they're going to be mentioned more on a forum where the owner has a sub named after him in their lineup. The answer to your question about DC and this site. People hate Meade, DC uses Meades sight as its home forum therefore they Hate on DC. end of story
Doesnt a dealer have to make a profit to keep the lights on?Not really. Most people hate on DC due to the stark contrast between their dealer pricing and direct pricing. I'm not saying they don't. What I'm saying is that DC shouldn't undercut their dealer pricing by offering direct prices that are nearly half of dealer pricing. It should be flat across the board, maybe meet somewhere in the middle. I understand why people who are 50+ miles away from a dealer would love DC pricing, but others that are close to a dealer miss out on that good price. It also creates an instance where people will try to bypass the local dealer to get a good price.Doesnt a dealer have to make a profit to keep the lights on?
And is it wrong for a guy like me WHO does not have a Dealer within not 50 miles but, 100 miles from a dealers to pay dealer Cost?I'm not saying they don't. Thats a good point I didnt think about.. The dealer cost is going to include direct CS also, with warrenty issues and such. Where as I will have to do the pain in the *** mailing way, email, phone call way..And is it wrong for a guy like me WHO does not have a Dealer within not 50 miles but, 100 miles from a dealers to pay dealer Cost?
Yes. The price on an item should be the same price regardless of where it is bought. If I buy it from a dealer I don't get a special warranty or anything to warrant the price difference. You still get a warranty with the direct price. The point is that there should be no difference in price to argue about. How many other companies do you think do this? And is it wrong for a guy like me WHO does not have a Dealer within not 50 miles but, 100 miles from a dealers to pay dealer Cost?
