DB-R electronics sucks

Personally having dealt with dB-r, I had some sae1200s from him, 1 went up in smokes but got completely fixed by db-r for free...the 2nd one something happened where it just wouldnt power on all the time, sent it in on last day of 30 day warranty and he fixed it free and shipped it back free aswell.
Although having both have problems was inconvenient and personally i dont understand how he couldve claimed "tested before leaving" and TWO of them arrive not functioning right is beyond me, but he made things right so hes good in my book. Also, FYI, both amps have been working fine since being repaired again.
Were they shipped with UPS or Fedex. Like UPS is often not the greatest ppl for shipping. So you know they could of been damaged during shipping some how. I know MTX a while back had a big recall on alot of their amps. And Im sure they left the warehouse working as well. I had two. They both blown after a week of use. Took them back and found out about the recall.

can't wait to see what DBr and Jacob's comments are on the allegations flying around here.... considering the # of Sundown amps that go through DBr's hands and new ones he sells i doubt he said those exact words....

I don't think you'll ever get as much BANG for $125 as those clearance 1200D's.... I just hope they all hold up, I admittedly had to rush the repairs on some of them, but then again, some of them just needed solder touch ups and that was it, others were blown to bits...

as soon as I took the amp off the batt. light went off, also the amp blew someone elses sub and headunit.
an amp cannot blow a headunit unless you put power to the rca's or soemthing. You must have really screwed up installing it.
An Amp will blow a headunit if you ground the outputs, which means the amp had to be powered on when you tried to hook the sub up. I know this because i have done it and chris fixed it.

My truck was on, didnt know it. Hooked the positive sub wire and the negative hit the heatsink and fried the amp and chris told me it shouldve fried the headunit and i got lucky.

Also i highly doubt chris told you that they were junk, he has told me quite the opposite. Chris holds the SAE-1200 in a high regard for being a 2 ohm powerhouse and actually putting out more power at 2 ohms than the SAZ-1500. Anyone here can call him and ask him about them and im sure he will praise them.

Ronin, you have proved yourself as an untrustworthy seller, an ******* to talk to and that you dont have much knowledge when it comes to car audio. I understand why you got ran off of CACO but i dont udnerstand why your still here when obviously no one cares.

He told me the same thing when I inquired about the SAE1200d. He actually also told me that Sundown was the only reliable amp to repair simply because he can buy one cheap, fix it cheap because parts are readily available, and have a fast turn around and get them in and out quick because its what people wants. On top of this CS, he also has a nice business stand point that makes perfect sense.

I saw that the first time you posted it, guess everyone else ignored it haha.. That is an interesting post. But still, i am not believing anything that the OP says. Doesnt sound like he has a clue on what the hell he is doing. There is a chance the amp was shit when he got it, but more than likely it was user/install error, by the sounds/looks of it.

k so im not understand what route you should have taken. what is it that you do in order to not fry things... what should you not have done is basically what im saying. you saying that if the truck was off it owuldnt have happen?

plus is it mandatory that you hook your subs up before you power teh amp. or power teh amp before hook up subs. if i get zapped that is not oging to be fun

Yes that is correct. No, nothing else needed, as soon as it arrives I will refund your money. For future reference, the SAE-1200's are the bottom of the barrel sundown amps, while the new v2 SAE-1200D will be much more reliable, still the SAZ line is what I personally would spend my money on. The SAE-1200D=cheap china amp, the SAZ line is top of the line Korean built amps. Just FYI. Though you probably already know this.

Received the amplifier back here, thanks for including the remote by the way... The amplifier only had 1 small problem, with the input board (the board the RCA's, GAIN, etc are all on), and matter of fact it still worked fine, but had lower than normal output. Upon touching up a few solder connections on the input board all is well and amplifier functions exactly as it should, have been testing it for over 30 minutes now at full volume, have dropped it on the desk a few times checking for intermittent problems and have found none. Issuing refund now anyway, as to resolve this matter with this customer.

This is why I started this thread, everything was cool and you can see he admitted there was somethig wrong then he sent this.

dB-r Electronics just sent you money with PayPal.

Subject: $20 refund for shipping costs to return working amplifier...

Message: Please DO NOT buy from us again. I won't go around saying nothing bad about you in public, but I do not wish to do business with you again. This amplifier works fine. It only had a very minor issue. You have put me through hell over this and I do not wish to do business with you again.

I was told the amp was working when I bought it then he says it had a minor issue. I didn't pay for a amp with minor issues.
