dB-500 first impressions

I ordered 4 10's and they came in yesterday, I'm planning on all 4 going into my jetta but I don't have a box yet. I put two in my truck (04 silverado ext cab) just so I could play with them. I had some extra .9cf sealed boxes that I had made for two H2 10's that I only ended up getting 1 for.

Any way, I took out the H2 10" and put in two TC dB-500's off of my Planet TT1250 (750w @ 2 Ohm) and for $200 it sounds pretty good, its at least twice as loud compared to my H2 10" off of 1200w. Sound quality is tons better too, I can actually hear bass notes not just boom compared to the H2. I've only got to play for about 1 hour with these but I am very impressed for how much I paid. The only other subs I've heard recently that I can compare to is some Diamond D6 10's but they are in a totally different install them mine it is not a very fair apples to apples, but i would rate these to be just as good, if not a little bit louder and a little less SQ.

The lowend (under 45hz) is a little disapointing but it most likely is not the drivers fault, I just monkey rigged two sealed boxes into my truck so I could hear them. With some planning with some speaker programs I could probably find out what size box works best for these. I will be doing that for my Jetta install, which now I may not do all 4, 2 may be enough if I can get the lowend to respond how I want it to be.

I have not had a chance to have it tested, only played with them for a little bit. I'm not even sure the shop I usually go to has a tester. I live in kind of a small town and there are no comps, its not as popular here as it is in other areas of the country. I'll see what I can do.
