Dayton rs 7" or Ascendant 6.5" poly mid

Maybe I'm wrong but when I called them Dan (I think that's who I talked to) was extremely helpful and answered a TON of questions of mine. IIRC, he told me that the Poly mids use, well, a poly cone. The Arco mids are completely different drivers and use a carbon fiber cone. May be worth a call back...

The reason I remember this is because he said the ARCO mids have a distinct breakup higher than 3k while the polys can play cleanly through 5k. It would also explain the 2.5k crossover - or that the tweets are so supremely amazing that they thought the mid should get fair play 'cause the tweet can go into the 1ks.

well i went ahead and ordered a pair of the AA poly mids, i am going to cry if i cant fit them in my door. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

they seem very hard to beat for the 85.xx i spent on them incl. shipping.

and i also only have 60ish watts for the time being.

i might just run them off my infinity kappa xovers so i can bridge my amp and give them 120ish.

but we'll see how they perform with the 60 first

No, that would be Chad (owner, technical guy)... or Dale (Phone guy). I'm almost 100% positive it was Chad.

I based my fact on the site but i'll go with your answer.

Sounds more logical

The carbon fiber midrange is based upon our new neodymium motor design. Offering a whopping 11.5 mm of one-waylinear excursion, you are provided with a very high level of output where the midrange typically crosses over to your subwoofer.
The poly mid... It doesn't say what it's made out of but one would assume polymer by the name.
