Dayton rs 7" or Ascendant 6.5" poly mid

Their output is QUITE amazing, I straight dropped them in my sealed fiberglass door pods against my XXX6.5's. The pods are prolly ~.2cubes sealed, and I left the gains the same. They got every bit as loud as the XXX6.5's with have the power (~100rms per side compared to ~200rms per side). They're very clean, musically accurate, and extend pretty high very well. I had a little problems with some standing waves/reflections on the interior of the fiberglass...nothing that couldn't be solved with some interior treatment to the fiberglass.

I'm going to still be using the 4poly mids I have in my HT, my XXX6.5's will remain as my permanent car audio mids.

I'd go with the AA mids hands down. And yes, I own 4 of them

I told feandil (Matt) to stop talking... Thats about all I have to say -- I'll explain everything about the techs in the white papers but there are more important things that need done first -- other than that AA mid looks like it has serious potential to be the new best value out there. I would love to compare them to the RS drivers first hand.

not the best but it's all i have w/o pulling them out.... which I can't get done because I'm always listening to them.
hmm so the back of these is pretty small, i just might be able to fit them after all.

i guess i will be orderign a pair today.

UndercoverPunk, in your review you mentioned about some tensil slap. how much power did you have giong to them when this was happening.

that is about the only bad thing i have heard about these speakers so far.

and from you review i kind of doubt it will be a problem for me

I set the gains on a bridged set of channels for ~120 watts RMS per 6.5. I have over 300 available on each bridged channel. If whatever amp your using gets them louder than what mine are. I'll be shocked.

The tinsel slap is really a minor problem as it can be practicly eliminated with different crossover settings. Shit, I havn't even tried physicaly altering the mids to try and get rid of that slap. I havn't pulled the mids since I put them in. I don't wanna take them out. IDK, I'm thinking about calling Chad today to talk to him about them.

I need to fininsh the review to include more details about how they sound, but I'm having problems not being redundant. You can only say great and awesome so many times before you sound like a retard.

another question is are these much better than cdt hd mids?

that is what i have now and am guite happy with them.

but if these are better than i will kick the cdt's to the curb. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif
