OK guys,

I have taken these steps to eliminate ground noise;

1. Sanded Grounding Point and terminals

2. Seperated Power wires from speaker wires (Run different directions)

3. My gain is set to 12 o'clock

I have 3 mayor problems;

1. I have the ground noise,

2. My right tweeter lets more ground noise through that the left, or at least thats what i hear (Sat in every seat in the car, i still think it comes from there)

3. When put on the turn signals, i can hear hear the clicking in the tweeters

And one last bit of info on the install, i ran the rem wire to my cigaret lighter (i think this is whats causing the turn signal problem) Should i run this to the battery and then just put on a 12V switch to turn on and off the amp?

Helps very much apreciated.

Yes i have crossovers, the right one is located close to the ECU of my car, could this be the cause of why right tweeter has more noise than left?

It's a possibility. Change the location and see if it helps. I had one of mine close to the Fuse box and received interference even when powered off...

I have noise as soon as the amp turns on, regardless of whether or not the car is running. I don't get the engine whine when i accelerate or if i do its very minamal.

Where do you think i should place the crossover?

hey thanks for the help

Crossover placement, door, under dash away from ECU control box...

As for the amp noise, re-check your amp's ground. Make sure it is a secure/clean connection to the vehicles chassis. If this does not help, it may be within the amps board...

I'm going to try to change the crossovers, but i don't have much leway b/c the crossovers came with wires and connectors fixed to the crossover. This limits my placement of the crossovers... But defenetly going to try and get them away from ECU. I tried to stay away from door b/c of moisture.

As far as connections go, I used the factory gound where my seat was grounded too, and I made sure that all connections were snug.

Would going Big 3 upgrade help with grounding noise?

^^^ I agree, might be something wrong with the amp. Try moving your amp around and see if the noise is still there, if it is, I bet there is something wrong with the amp.

reground your head unit... i know it's factory... but i had a problem with a toyota stock radio the other day.... put a ring terminal on a piece of wire... and loosen a screw on the back of the radio... put the terminal on the screw and retighten it and ground the wire to a piece of metal in the dash... it may help...

Thanks everybody, i forgot to mention that im using the hi level inputs on the amp... would this have anything to do with it??

I have plugged in my laptop into the low level inputs and unplugged the hi level, and the sound is still there.

Any suggestions now??

.. Hoping to work on my car sunday after work, Move Crossover, and run REM to battery, i will do it one step at a time, to figure out what it is...

Possibly a ground loop between the HU and the amp, if you grounded the HU and the amp to the same spot it should eliminate it.

Another thing to try is to connect a small wire to the chassis of the HU and then run it back to the amp and connect it to the chassis of the amp.

Dang the solutions seem endless, mad pros to all those who do this for a living, and manage to not get these problem or solve them in a matter of minuets.

So lets see... we have;

1. Relocate Crossovers

2. Ground HU to grounding of amp

3. Run REM wire straight to battery (i will probably put a relay, such that it powers when HU is turned on, would that cause problems?)

4. Run wire from chasis of HU to chasis of Amp

5. Use a voltmeter to find a better ground? (place + on power, and run - along body until i find a higher reading that it currently at)

6. Big 3 upgrade? (plus some more for engine)

And if none of this works? will it be concluded that its that amp, and if so, what can be done to the amp.. its only 2~3 months old, will they replace it? (i purchased from Car Domain)
