Use gluewash about 5 times until it's rock hard, prime lightly for about 3 coats with light sanding, then do another 5 or so coats of the actual primer with increasing grit each time up to about 800 or even 1000 or so. It should feel like glass. Then the topcoat is the easiest part. A few clean coats with light sanding in between, then throw on a clear lacquer coat and you're game.

I would reccomend a cherry or dark stain, but you would want to clean that glue up.

*Vomits* I cannot stand stains on bare MDF. It looks horrible without veneer.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think imma just sand it a bit more and just lay that top coat. I keep forgetting that this isn't my only enclosure I will build for the 18.

I just want to know if I lay the top coat after the primer or sand it then prime it.

Who knows.... It might look clean.
