Dangers of leaving box unfinished?

Those of you who've left your boxes unfinished(ie, in raw MDF), have you had any problems with the wood cracking up due to moisture/cold weather/etc, with the box just sitting in the trunk? How cold is it where you live?

Just curious, and a little worried, that's all...Thanks for all and any input.

nope and im in upstate ny and if you seen the weather channel for this area its been showing like in the - teens below.

way upstate NY, below zero most of the time, lol. Never had any problems with enclosures and the cold, but noticed the subs slow down a bit.

yea i go out that way for the college hockey games. Oswego, geneseo, buff st. ect. Nice place out that way.

i dont question how long itll last, cuz i also dont think covering a box makes that big of a diff when it comes to protecting it. i had my box ***** for a good couple months and i just like it so much more now that its covered. much more pleasing to the eye, in my humble opinion of course.
