damping door panels

You put it on the inside of the metal door part, and some people put it on the door pod (that plastis or w/e piece that you see when you sit in the car) just around where the mid goes). From what I have heard it makes quiet a noticable difference!

91 civic. was going to go with edead. gonna be tricky to get inside though. any suggestions on any other good/cheap dampening?

I highly highly recomend second skin audio. With honda's you usually go in that little handle on the door pod and you'll see this little piece that sticks out, you pop that up with a screw driver and then there is a screw there to undo. and then you'll have to look around on it, the screws are hidden behind plastic and stuff. I think the other ones might be behind the door handle (inside handle) and like somewhere below the hinge for the door. Look around, and once you have the screws off, you have to like take that whole piece that it was holding off. Example, when you unscrew that cup handle thing then you have to pull it up and off.

You gotta reach in through whatever holes are in the inner panel so you can stick the stuff on the outer panel. Move the window up and down as necessary to get access. It's a real pain in the ***. The stuff sticks to everything it touches. I learned to cut small pieces and leave the backing on until I got it positioned, then remove the backing while applying the sheet. You gotta be a contortionist to get your hands in there. Be prepared to cut your hands to shreads on the sharp sheetmetal edges of the inner panel.

Such fun for better midbass.

I am looking to order some of the SecondSkin Damplifer to cover my doors. I will initially go with a single layer and see if it is enough for the modest system I am putting together. Will the 20 sq ft package be enough to cover both doors or will I need to step up to the 50 sq ft package? The car is a 1999 Acura Integra GSR hatchback.

each door can takle about 24 sq feet

figure that the door panel useabole are is 2.5' x 3.5'

thats 6 sq feet.

2 layers on door skin

1 layer on each side of door panel

thats 4 total layers each 6 sq feet, 24 total sq feet per door.
