Damaged MT, Thanks UPS

You might not be able to tell in the pics, cause i have a shitty digital camera. But what i think happened was, a screw that was in the box that was holding all the wood suppports together, punctured through the cone. It just kind of tore through, but none of the cone pieces are missing, so there isnt a hole of any sort. But, it did poke ALL THE WAY through, but its hard to see in the pics. Thats why i think i may be able to get by with applying silicone to the backside of the cone to just hold everything up. What do you guys think?
Flip the sub on its face, and apply a little E6000 (mainstay in my shops for years), and smear it to a thin layer with your finger. Wait until dry, and re-apply it. Should be fine.

JB weld would work OK on the baskets too, but keep in mind that once the speaker is firmly attached to the baffle, it will be strengthened rather well. Take UPS to the mat if possible.

Yea i already fixed the one with some gorilla glue, but i took it off for the ups inspections. I took them in on thursday but the guy that does the insurance claims was off that week, they are supposed to call me sometime this week to come look at them. I ended up filing on both, cause i didnt get what i paid for, and i might as well get them both fixed since they screwed them up.

Saywhat? i will try to get some pics up in the next day or 2.

heard back from my claim today.

DENIED. We are going to file a secondary claim because they said it was denied because of "bad packaging." It had a wood frame built in the box, that was totally destroyed upon arrival. Hopefully i will see some money. I told the ***** on the phone, that if i dont get my claim money, i want the money back i paid for insurance, why do i pay for it if i cant get insurance after they fuk it up? These motherfukers havent seen the last of me.

yea dude i would call them so much that they get sick of you and just say FINE ALRIGHT WE'LL PAY YOU JESUS..... thats what i would do anyway... and there is no way that a wood frame is insufficient packaging.... **** ups

sending the one with the broken basket back tomorrow to RE to get fixed. I tell you what, if this motherfuker doesnt get there safely, I will quit life. Whole box is made out of 7/16" osb with screws and staples. Even put a handle on each side so they can handle it with care. I just hope the boys at RE can get it opened.

can I have your subs + amps after it doesnt get there safe and you quit at life? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

It is standard policy at UPS to deny ALL calims as "inappropriate shipping"...that is no BS...standard policy.

You will not see a dime....reguardless of what you do. Even if you took it to a UPS shipping company (like mailboxes etc) THEY will get denied a claim as well! You're not any better if you ship with another carrier like DHL either, because on routes they dont service, UPS does it for them so your back in league with the devil.

These are pics from inside a UPS terminal in california....see how your packages end up?

wrong box pic haha.

lol yea, i will get some pics sometime. My dad still drives it, since i havent officially bought it from him yet, so it isnt here much. i will get some this weekend probably.

I have found a perfect solution to shipping heavy items. Ship it on a bus! You personaly put it on the bus and usually only one other person will touch that box (only if it has to change routes) Then the reciever personally takes the box off the bus. The best thing is that it cost just about the same as UPS but you get it in only 2 days. It only takes 2 days max driving cross country, the bus never shuts off from NY to LA, it changes drivers. **** near fool proof IMO.

If the UPS store packages it, and it's damaged in shipping, UPS HAS to pay the claim iirc. After their little "investigation".

Problem is they charge an arm and a leg for packaging.Except this one time, took a sub in its original box, I was going to pack it there myself after paying for a box to ship it.I paid $4 for the box and they packaged it, no chagre. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Dave called me today, the MT has been repaired. When i get it back and installed I will post pics up. BTW, ups fuked me again after the appeal on the original decision. They said something like, there was no wood bracing in the box. MOTHERFUKERS! they took pictures with their own **** cameras. Bastards. UPS FTMFL
