D-Class Woofers????

So I was on the crapper yesterday reading through a copy of Car Audio And Electronics magazine. While I was skimming through looking for good articles, I noticed an ad for PowerBass Xtreme D-class woofers. Is there really such a thing as a D-class woofer, or am I right in guessing that this is just another gimmick? Not planning on buying anything from them, I was just curious.

im not going to look them up, but it could be the same thing as a "D-series sub"

maybe they have a,b,c,d series subs-a being beginner line, d being there highest

I don't think so. The ad specifically stated that the D-class subs were supposed to optimized for your class-d amp. IDK though.

So it's basically just a gimmick. The "Class D" design is nothing more than a machined basket and pole vents on the motor. They claim that a Class D amp heats up voice cpoils more than an A/B amp does. The way i understand it, power is power as long as it's clean. Class-d amps are just more efficient as far as I know. Anyway, at least I got to look at a blonde with nice tits, lol.

They're ok street beater subs, but id never put my own money in on buying one. A team mate of mine has like 8 of their 15's, he does great driveby scores with them, but honestly I think he'd do better with subs that can take more abuse.
