IMO u can compare type r's wit a cvr, but what will b a better spl heavy / SQ install?

I plan on doing a custom 2-12" rear deck ported install wit the kicker cvx's using an mm autotek amp.

From the audiophilles professional opinion would an alpine type x b a better investment?

type x V cvx?

Are you asking about the Type R or Type X?

From an audiophile standpoint (since you brought it up)... the subwoofer plays a very small roll in overall SQ -- so pick one, put it in a sealed box that works well with your car's cabin gain, and throw some power at it. Or, put one in a low-tuned ported enclosure and EQ out any of the high spots, and then throw some power at it.

In the case of the subs you mentioned...

Type X: Don't port it if SQ is the goal, Qes is way too high.

Type R: Seal it for SQ. Port it if you want it to get loud.

CVX: Will do well in small sealed or ported box.

If you are interested in SQ, then don't worry about which sub meters higher than another... because it don't mean diddly.

If you want an SPL or loud daily driver setup, then you might want to rephrase your question...

Type x will be more sq, type r will be more spl.

cvr's..... meh, if you're guna go with kicker, might as well step it up to the l5 or l7"s.

It's what the bstrds got famous for. sO must be doin sumthin right

im asking about the type x

and

yes because of my addiction its gonna b a daily driver.

&

Because i'm going wit a very high end mb quart set up wit my mid and highs i'm really looking for something that will attack my lows very well (loud and deep).

The type x vrs the cvx?? Well like stated above the Type X is more for SQ sounds really good, they get loud, but dont move a meter well, the CVX sounds ok, but is made more for SPL, so it all depends on what your looking for, they both have there purpose!

If loud SQ is the goal, then go with the Type X's sealed with ~2kw of power.

I'd actually suggest something totally different for an SQ setup, but out of the choices given, the Type X is capable of moving the most air in a sealed enclosure.

A few other options (either sealed or ported):

Shiva-X

CSS SD12

SSA Icon

Fi Q

Dayton Titanic

IDMAX

TC Epic

LOL...Coming from somebody that has a avator with 3 type x's in it:laugh:

thats actually 4 type X's... And thats Y im saying it is a waste! That guy spent over $10 grand with us and still didnt hit half as hard as he should of. All becuz the subs dont perform as well as u would expect a woofer that pricy to.

I'm a big IDMAX fan, but i'm thinking with difference in price is it worth it.

Is this a numbered list for your recommendations?

What more can i expect from the IDMAX?

Type R's and CVR's aren't really comparable because R's will totally blow them away. Most of the time R's are even better than L7's:) I'd like to add the Stereo Integrity Magnum (older version) to the above list.
