Cutting springs?

Yet you don't seem to be smart enough to realize cutting the shitty stock springs and keeping the weak factory spring rate is not only completely stupid, but completely worthless? You've spent money on new shocks, but are too cheap to spend money on a set of lowering springs? I find that more than a little odd... The shocks were easily more than a set of BMR springs that would have given you a better ride, and about the same stance that you tried to get with the hack job - and have the stiffer spring rate to compensate for being lower to the ground in the first place. But hey man - you have a PM from a custom car builder... Or something... So ignore the several other people that say "hold up! bad idea!"

Supposedly, if you knew something about your car -one would hope you'd know enough to do it right.

There is a difference between "getting by" and "doing it right" - I think it's obvious what you prefer. Not really flaming, just sick of seeing people cut corners on things that they have pride in. You've spent an exuberant amount of money on aftermarket Z06 rims, so you obviously care about the apperance of the car, now why don't you treat the rest of it right?

I am going to replace the springs as soon as i get my motor debt paid off. this was a temporary fix until i have the finances in order to buy some springs, i bought some used springs before and the car was way too low. This was more of a learning experience than a permanent fix, as i am going to be driving the impala here for the next little while because i am going to be getting some body work done on my camaro.

i never cut them in my old S-10 because the possibility of the cons outweight the pros... in my opinion. but i'm planning on baggin my Silverado.

seriously, screw the coils and buy bags. it's more expensive, but done right you'll get a better ride, you can slam it on decent roads and when parked, and raise it as high as you need to cover speed bumps and whatnot.

I agree with you jlaine on the handleing aspects. The car wont handle much better a little because of the lower center of gravity. Just depends on what people are going for, handleing or looks.

Ok - so why didn't you tell everyone here that was warning you against it that you were only going to do it temporarily?

Don't get the alignment done if you are going to replace them soon, you'll end up doing it over again and paying twice - unless you have a deal with tires plus or a few other places that offer alignments for life for cheap.

I guess i should have mentioned that it was temporary, i just wanted to know if it could be done. I was hearing different things from people on here than i was from people i actually spoke to, so i decided to go ahead with it, most of the factual arguments on here didnt come until after it was done anyway...

And my father is a fireman and they have a deal with one of the tire places around here for free alginments for life after you have paid for one, so it didnt cost me anything

Why the hell did you bother posting this if you didn't want to hear anything anyone had to say? Besides, what is one more month of your car being "high" going to hurt?

Second, why the **** did you actually do it? I bet that rides like a **** lumber wagon.

Third, you just wasted everyones time in this thread that TRIED to help you.

Fourth, the case is lost anyway, the bowtie on the hood pointed that out :-/

Also, you just wanting to know if it could be done or so you say on the last page...They all told you it could be done, and would ride like ****. Why does it matter if it could be done they told you it could from post 3 or some crap.
