cutting panels

i am going to mount 6 1/2's in my door, they do not have holes for them. what all do i have to do? can i just cut the door frame thing?

yup...time to break out the jigsaw...

sawzall or jigsaw. use a template, draw line with a marker and have at it!

and then what screw a mdf ring around it? then cut the door panel?

no just mark the cutout, drill a hole through to get teh jigsaw or sawzall blade through and go at it. make sure you wont cut into any weatherstripping or electrical.

forget the jigsaw....use a plasma cutter...i wish. anyways, when using the jigsaw just be careful not the bend the blade too much since it can break. you can mount the woofer directly to the door panel by using sheetmetal screws.
