Cutting Metal rear deck?

I just got a 93 town car and I plan on putting a 12" type R with 500rms soon and Im worried about the sound getting into the cabin especially cause i eventually plan on upgrading subs.. Basically the car has a vertical gas tank which totally blocks out 1/2 the height of the rear seat and it has a couch for a rear seat... The rear deck lid now has holes from the 6x9s and factory 6" sub and behind the seat id say 1/3 the surface area is holes..... would cutting out the rear deck lid/behind seat area more make a sound diffrence? I have a frame rail car so not worried about strucual damage but wondering if all the cutting will even be noticable....

You do not need to cut wholes in the car to let bass through. imo.

make some bass holes, kinda like addin speed holes to your hood to allow more air to flow in

You can just have your box built to port through your rear deck then cut the hole out to the dimensions of your port.

why don't you just mount the sub in the rear deck and build a box under it?
