cutting down a box and tuning

My step dad and I built a box but we got wrong plans. We wanted 2.5 Cubic feet but it ended up about 3.5 cubic feet. We have acutal JL plans now and we are just going to cut this one to size. Will the tuning be messed up if we just cut it down on the sides so it is 2.5 Cubic feet?

why would it mess it up? You goin sealed or ported

if its ported it will.

many people say jl's design is 2 small for the W7 BTW.

yeah if its ported you will lose port area, throwing off your tune.

yes depending on how your box is designed you will def raise the tuning. and if you cut from port side you will lose port area.

Don't even bother. Just make a new box to the specs that you want. I guarantee you'll realize it's the best choice in the end.

The box can probably be saved. Cut it from the port side and re-calculate everything accordingly...

what about all the screw holes? what should I do about those?
