custom wood kicks?

just wondering if anyone has made kickpanels of out wood?, im fairly handy with making things, i do light carpentry and wood flooring. not sure if i want to do any fiberglassing. im going to do custom woodwork in my 96 c220 benz, i already have a back dash made out of wood, turned out really slick. and eventually the doors and the maybe the floors but for the kick panels i was going to try to carve out a solid piece for my 6w focal audioms. and eventually my 5" and my 4" utopias. all for the front stage! running off of a zapco 350, and an arc audio 2050
