Custom Trunk!

hey guys, im looking for some suggestions for my NEW CUSTOM TRUNK...

i am sort of turning my car into a "demo" for a member of these forums, who, if he wants, can volunteer his name...

We are looking at moving my 12 into the spare tire well in teh bottom of the trunk...

it's a 91, LS, pretty big trunk..

anyone had any experience with this car? or even a Thunderbird from teh same era, nearly the same...

Any suggestions? also, how much will materials run for somethign liek this, we;re talking fibreglass, some wirirg, etc...?

I know a gallon of fiberglass resin that comes as a kit with hardener but no matting. It's like $26, and I'm not sure how much the mat is.

The matt itself is pretty cheap. They sell it at Can tire, and I doubt we'd (oops, gave it away) require more than 25 dollars worth of it. More time than money.

Go out and buy the latest issue of Auto Sound & Security. In it, they fiberglass the bottom of a Impreza WRX trunk. They have all the steps, and it'd be way easy to just move it over into your car. Basically, lay down a nice thick layer of fiberglass on bottom, then just make sure you have enough airspace for the sub, and seal it all up really nicely.

ya, teh actual making of the fibreglass shouldntbe a problem, its just deisng ideas and fine tuning that we are struggling with..

anyways, so me and "Pedro" as we shall call the mystery installer (That OK with you Mark?) measured the wheel well today, and it wont be a problem to mount the sub in tehre, we will only ahve to raise teh floor by the thickness ofa sheet of MDF, which we were going to use as a baffle anywys! yay! lol.

so anyways... all i need now, is an AMP for the 12... im looking for 1000 RMS, as cheap as possible.. the two i am considering rightnow are the JBL 1200.1, and the RE amp...

anyone wlese got anything liek taht?

u gonna be competing with this set up? if so, if your getting the jbl then u need a external crossover that has a subsonic filter.
