Would a 2.6 cubic foot box be too large if the recommended size is between one and two cubes?

Obviously it's a little over 25% too big, but would that make a huge difference in quality?

Most importantly, would it affect the sub in any way?

And lastly, my port, which is on top, is 2.5" x 14". Is the 35 in. sq. a decent size? I've read that for ports, between 12" and 16" sq. is recommended for each cubic foot in terms of volume.
