Custom colers on baskets- painting versus powdercoating

Was wondering- would using automotive paint (primer, color, and clear) be any worse than powdercoating? i understand it might chip easier than powdercoating, but will it effect the glues used in the speaker building process? reason i ask is im doing custom colored baskets, and im thinking painting to match the color on the car will be easier than trying to find the perfect powdercoat color...

of course not... its a pair of 5200 18's.... parts will be in the mail for it soon, gonna get them painted, and then send them back to tc to be assembled ( custom color baskets and top/bottom plates...) thanks for the replies, anymore comments or opinions?

paint wil be fine just as you know not as durable... but the bonus of that like you said it is the only way to get the exact color match.

Just remeber to have them mask off where the basket mounts to the top plate,spider landing, surround landing.

yep- kyle said he would tell me where to NOT have it painted.... and being tc- its got the quick change assembly, so its got the threaded topplate. im not going to paint the threads....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and as far as not as durable- how fragile will the paint be? any ideas?

lets just say that anything that woudl hit it and mark up the aluminum woudl mark the paint, it is just the paint is more noticable.
