Custom Autosound and 6.5" Components

Greetings! I am new here, and figured I'd just jump right into posting and ask my first question. Has anyone here got any experience using a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio with the separate CD changer? The reason I ask is because I have a 1972 Chevy truck and don't want to cut the dash or mount a head unit in the glovebox. I won't be using the deck amp or anything, just the radio and changer controller. I will be amping the speakers (6.5" components in the kicks) with an Alpine V-Power 50x2, or may upgrade to a 50x4 and bridge the back two channels to a cheap 10" sub. The truck is my daily driver/work truck, so I won't be doing anything too terribly fancy to it.

Also, while I'm asking, what is everyones reccommendation for a pair of entry level 6.5" components. They will be in the kicks and run off a 50x2 amp. I listen to just about all kinds of music, especially rock/metal. I've looked into the following:

-Alpine Type S

-JL Audio TR

-Infinity Reference

-JBL GTO

Any suggestions?
