I did look at them. Under them, I can see that the cone is at more of an angle than the dustcap. That's what it looks like anyways.Don't get your panties in a twist.
If you take a look at your type-r's you'll notice that is no dustcap, it's actually the cone as well.
It would be impossible to replace the "dust cap" since technically it doesn't really have one.
PSI's big dustcaps are separate from the cone.

Haha, alright. I'm getting $3k over the summer for some undergraduate research thing. I think I may move up to two BTL 18s with a Memphis Mojo 4k to power them both. What do you all think of that setup providing I upgrade the charging system to match it?I've owned and destroyed a type-r.
Trust me when I say it's not possible.
I really don't know what else I can do to the box. It's ~8.0ft^3 @ roughly 34hz.You have 2 15" Type Rs? Why dont you just build a better box?

I'm fairly new to car audio and was wanting to know whether or not it would help. I'm sorry for wasting thirty seconds of your life. Pos.
you'll gain quite a bit by doing 10-10.5 cubes instead.I really don't know what else I can do to the box. It's ~8.0ft^3 @ roughly 34hz.

I would listen to this over the other reccomendation, considering it comes from the king of type R'sFor 2 type-r 15's?
You're on crack.
3.5-4 cubes is optimum for those subs.
It's a pressed paper dustcap glued on top of a pulp cone.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gifIf you take a look at your type-r's you'll notice that is no dustcap, it's actually the cone as well.
