Custom Alpine Woofage

I have some SWR-1542Ds, and I would like to customize them in some way. Is more cone surface area really a factor in how loud a sub will be? It has a full dustcap like PSI recones, and if more cone area does equal more deebees, then I would like to take the full dustcap off and replace it with a custom painted one from DC. What do you guys think?

P.S. I know that in order to make it louder, I should get a new setup because mine blows, but it's my first one and a new system is out of the question for a long time.

Yes, Mr. 15K posts, it is. I'm fairly new to car audio and was wanting to know whether or not it would help. I'm sorry for wasting thirty seconds of your life. Pos.
Don't get your panties in a twist.

If you take a look at your type-r's you'll notice that is no dustcap, it's actually the cone as well.

It would be impossible to replace the "dust cap" since technically it doesn't really have one.

PSI's big dustcaps are separate from the cone.

Is this a serious question?

To the OP? Very much so.
