Current events discussion

From wildfires to ****** identity and medical issues in one fell swoop.

It's like saying "Kids and adults are starving across the US, but at least we can afford $1 Billion in helmets, just for the F-35 pilots" or "People are dying for lack of insulin, but at least our president is focused on fighting to disallow Native Americans from being citizens".

Except, someone's right to abortion, or the right to know their own ****** identity has NOTHING to do with fires, and affects no one in any way, other than the people who are obsessed with it and stay up at night grinding their teeth, clutching their pearls, and wringing their hands about it.
Religion really ***** with people's heads, man.
Forgive me for pointing out numerous crap policies californicators have brought with them to Colorado. So what is limit per post?

I'm trying to find any policies that you pointed out. You keep just repeating that Newsom screwed the pooch, and then when given stats that show the firefighting efforts and improvements that were made after he got in office, you disregard them.

When it was pointed out that Trump basically said unless he got his way he would refuse federal assistance for the firefighting efforts, and that he lied about Biden's administration not providing help, it was also simply ignored.

Is that how you roll? Just ignore facts that are inconvenient to your beliefs?

Are you excitedly believing the claims that the fires were deliberately set to hide ********* tunnels, or set from satanic rituals, or that they are fighting fires with women's purses, or that CA was preventing out-of-state teams from helping fight the fires?

CalFIRE has double personnel since 2019
CalFIRE's budget has almost doubled since 2019
The forest management budget has increased ten-fold since 2019
Prescribed fires have more than doubled since 2021
SoCal's MWD has enough water to supply 40M people for a year.
OCWD has enough water to carry the district through 3-5 years of drought.
Wildfire control is done with water tenders, not fire hydrants.
Key reservoirs in SoCal are far from empty.

What did the Republican governor in office prior to Newsom do to improve the situation?

I've specifically pointed to the lack of brush clearing and fire breaks numerous times. Simply because you ignore a fact doesn't mean I didn't bring it up.

It's great that CalFire has hired people and spent money. But if that doesn't translate into clearing brush and making fire breaks then all that is is proof of the mismanagement I referred to? I'm more interested in accomplishments than blowing money and hiring incompetent people to meet DEI quotas.
