Current events discussion

So, do we go by what people are "touting" or by the numbers that agencies like ICE and DHS report every year based on what they do?

There are people on this forum who "tout" Trump's successes, when they don't even know they were things Biden did. One schmuck actually agreed that Biden was a POS for banning bumpstocks, because he saw a meme that said so.

So what is it, "touts" or "facts"?
You missed the point of my post. We have liberals simultaneously touting Biden's success in opening the borders, but liberals also want to claim Sleepy Joe was a hard @$$ on immigration. Schodinger's liberal.

Sleepy Joe, the King of Deportation.

No spin. What teased you on was clearly typed out by you. I'm sure it was a typo, due to a raging mind, but none the less, you typed "Pentium Computer." There's no spinning on that.
Aside fromn you and Thxone, WHO claimed that I never said "Pentium computer"? NOT ME. In fact, I quoted it several times, AND explained it.
If you had the intellect you claim to have, you'd understand that what I said was commentary on the quality of that YouTube video you shared.

"That's high school level video editing skills on a Pentium computer, and it's lower quality than the Zapruder film."
Read again. I didn't say it WAS made on a Pentium computer by a kid.

Ever hear someone say a Jackson Pollock painting looks like the work of a five-year-old? They're not saying the painting WAS made by a five-year-old, just that the work looks like it COULD have been done by one.

Now you're talking about a point I didn't say, or you are repeating it wrong. When did I mention water was to be delivered from an empty reservoir? The point was, two reservoirs were to deliver water to the tower. One was shut down with no date on being put back in service.
Yet you again fail to explain the relevance if the one reservoir that was open and in use could deliver more water then the tank pumps could move.
17,000 GPM feeding pumps that can only move 1,000GPM. I'll ask you yet again: HOW MANY WATER TOWERS IN THE FIRE ZONE?
I'll tell you something for certain. As be being a Civil Servant in a management position living in California and have done so for almost 50 years, I know a hell of a lot more about what goes on around here than you do. Weekly, I sit with all City management and give thorough reports on my division. Every month, I city with the Mayor and City Counsil members go over and present my reports. I don't need Google or a news reporters to give me info on what goes on in this state. So, don't for a second think you can open your mouth and spew the ideocracy words and believe they will be more accurate than what I am telling you. If you mentioned something about your state, I would not question it. Even if it does sound way off. You live there and have the inside info.
You know that California and the cities within set up their water systems in a manner that is different from every other state and those other state's cities?
That's cool.

So with your vast wealth of knowledge, answer the questions that I have asked you multiple times, and we can further the discussion/debate instead of leaving it with you offering "Sugon Deez Nutz" and "trust me, dude" as your only side of the debate.

How many water towers in the fire zone?
What was/is the capacity of each tower tank?
What was the capacity of the pumps feeding the tower tanks?
What was the water level of the reservoir that was still in use (was it Hollywood Res, upper and lower)?
How many hydrants were in use, and how many hoses were in use?
How many pumpers were they filling and refilling?

"If you mentioned something about your state, I would not question it. Even if it does sound way off."

And you're entrusted with a management position for your city? You simply accept dubious things that other people say, if you consider them as having the "inside" info?
Holy shit. You are exactly the type that gives civil servants a bad name.

What does that say?

Stop trying to convince me that you didn't screw up. There are no Pentium computers. There are Pentium processors. You should have said ...video editing skills on a Pentium cpu. Or chip, or processor.
Huh? You are freaked out that I said "Pentium computer" instead of "computer with a Pentium microprocessor centtal processing unit on the motherboard" or "Pentium-processor-based personal computer"? Maybe you wanted "Personal Computer PC300 Series Pentium System"?
What is this, Halt and Catch Fire? What moron talks like that in 2025?

Are you actually dumb enough to confused by "Pentium computer", or just being a ****?

Yeah, but not quite.
Agreed. Gonna' be interesting when down the road you claim that you never said the Republicans waste more money than the Democrats.

No, you messed up and have yet to say that you messed up. Say you messed up and we move on.

Democrats waste more money.

Hmmm, so you got confused by the truncation to "Pentium computer". Sorry I wasn't speaking to your intelligence level, where simplification of terms creates brain melt.

Give me your landline telephone number and and I can send you a facsimile of some information on desktop personal computers. I assume your portable Snapdragon-based cellular telephone running Android cannot accept facsimiles, but you have a facsimile machine on your home landline telephone.

Oh, there's this: "Pentium refers both to the microprocessor chip itself and the computers that use it."

Hmmm, to break down that compound sentence for you: "Pentium" refers to computers that use the chip.
It can be called a "Pentium computer".
And I can say "fax" instead of "facsimile"?
I can just say "Android phone"?
I can say "PC" instead of "personal computer"?
I can say "sub" instead of "subwoofer"?

Wow. Language is amazing.
Democrats waste more money.
Changing your claim already? That was fast.

How did we know you would do any and everything you could to keep from admitting your fault. You really are pathetic. You can dumb it down for yourself and the language clearly marketed to people of your low IQ. There are computers that USE Pentium processors, there are no "Pentium computers". You want to low IQ AMD processors and tell us all they are AMD computers. How do you not understand that by shortening they are not calling it a Pentium computer... It literally means a computer using an Intel Pentium CPU. Which will cost less to print for adds? God damn, and you claim to be smart.

There is a reason they are called Personal Computers or PC's now and why people ask "What processor do you use in your PC?" answer... Intel or AMD.

That crazy Dell corporation, knowing less about computers than Thxone, and making more money in a day that he's earned in his life, lol.

I'd wager that 99% of the people using computers have NO idea what processor is in there. Nor do they give a shit, as long as it works.
Is it normal when you are talking to people for you to say "I was doing some work on my PERSONAL COMPUTER the other day, when I got a call on my transportable cellular telephone..."?
Do they roll their eyes and say "nerd!" and walk away?

Dell Doesn't make Intel CPU's. It uses them as well as AMD CPU's.

I like how you are worming out of the conversation by acting like it is a who cares kind of thing. The point is, you messed up and refuse to admit it. Cool, let's move on.

How about President Donald J. Trump signing Executive Orders that we were able to watch on the Television or over the Internet via our Personal Computers or Cellular Telephone Devices? Are you excited to see all the redacted documents regarding JFK, RFK and MLK?

Who said "who cares"?
I'm just surprised that you use the full proper name for everything that you deal with. It must make in-person conversations with you extremely tedious.

"Hi, I'm Thxone. The automobile that I drive is a Chevrolet Motor Company, a division of General Motors Corporation Equinox. It has an internal combustion engine that runs on unleaded gasoline. I plan to uninstall the current radio that is in the dashboard, and replace it with another double Deutsches Institut für Normung -sized radio. I'm going to use some cables that have Radio Corporation of America connectors on each end of the wire to send the line-level audio signals to a separate signal amplifier.
That signal amplifier will provide AC power to subwoofer speaker drivers that sit in holes cut out a box. They will be secured with hardware known as 'screws'."

Snorrrrrrrrre.

Huh? They are going to do feeds of him signing the his EO's?
Are you excited to see all the redacted documents regarding JFK, RFK and MLK?
Ge might think he has more power than he really does. If someone wants those documents kept out of the public eye, they will stay out of the public eye.
He may be the CIC, but he is not omnipotent.

It's good to see he's worrying abut the really important stuff, though.
I guess he already solved the grocery prices issue, the underinsured Americans issue, unaffordable pharmaceuticals, starving children, etc.

He is actually. ICE is doing their part. Rob, it's been 3 days. Relax bro.

Calling a computer a "Pentium" computer does not make sense. Pentium does not make computers. Pentium is a processor that is used in them, which I'm sure you know. However, a Pentium processor was considered as being high end back then, well, at least the Pentium Dual Core 4 version was.
Ever hear someone say a Jackson Pollock painting looks like the work of a five-year-old? They're not saying the painting WAS made by a five-year-old, just that the work looks like it COULD have been done by one.

17,000 GPM feeding pumps that can only move 1,000GPM. I'll ask you yet again: HOW MANY WATER TOWERS IN THE FIRE ZONE?
The tower ran out of water so fast because there was only one water source, correct? If the tower was fed by two reservoirs, that tower would have been able to keep up with the demand twice as well as just having one, correct?

I think your misunderstanding what I'm trying to say. If you had water gravity fed into a cup through one straw, and you were ******* out the water with another straw, you would end up draining the cup faster than it can be fed. If you had another straw, from a different source, that is also gravity feeding water into the cup, it would take you much longer to drain that cup.

You know that California and the cities within set up their water systems in a manner that is different from every other state and those other state's cities?

How many water towers in the fire zone?
I Don't remember, and that has nothing to do with the point I was making. However, in this part of the city, we are talking about the one where the fire started.
What was/is the capacity of each tower tank?

What does any of this have to do with the point I was making? You're trying to go off in a direction that doesn't address what really matters.

We are talking about where the fire started. If the proper sources were available, the fire would not have been as bad as it was. That's the point.
"If you mentioned something about your state, I would not question it. Even if it does sound way off."

And you're entrusted with a management position for your city? You simply accept dubious things that other people say, if you consider them as having the "inside" info?
Holy shit. You are exactly the type that gives civil servants a bad name.
Who said I only go by what people tell me? How are you getting your info? Is your info more reliable than mine? I live here and work with the people that are dealing with these issues first-hand. That's pretty arrogant of you to think you are receiving more accurate information from Google and a news reporter that obviously leans heavily left. So yea... any intellectual person would tell you that my sources are much more reliable.

LOL... I honestly can't believe you feel Google is more reliable than first-hand experience. So, are you telling doctors that you're a better surgeon because you googled it? Are you going to tell a Engineer that you can anything better because you Googled it? Or maybe you think a democrat politician is spot-on because they are a democrat?

Just stop, man!
