my amps have about 150a current draw.,

my alt is 85a

at full tilt i get slight headlight dimming. nothing big., thats only at idle.,

So long as you have enough batts to keep voltage in the 12's during big bass lines, the alt should be able to keep up while playing music(normal stuff that isn't a solid bass line like some songs), charging inbetween peaks in the music.

The alt may not last as long as it normally would, but it should work fine for the time being.

Gotta figure its not going to pull that amperage unless you're playing tones. Music is dynamic, won't be pulling that much power all the time.

i say try it out, i ran a 500.1 and many other amps in the same power range w/o problems or major voltage drops. with only a 60 amp stock alt , an exide orbital in front and an nsb90 in back, on burps i was holding 13 or more. if i play full tilt music for an hour or more itll get down a bit, actually stalled my car once in the lanes...lol.... and for a cheap alternator it lasted 8 yrs of abuse b4 it finally went last week...

yeah my alt is 80a and i have a aq2200d 200a draw, and i cant notice any dimming
