Current box for a DD 3500

Got a hold of a local dealer for DD and he priced me out a 3500 D2 15" for $460.

He wanted my current box specs and I ended up with the following:

(Box)

W - 26

H - 19

D - 17.5

(Port)

W - 2

H - 17

L - 15

TOTAL : 3.96^3

Tuning: 35hz

If this is correct I'm going to need a new box since the DD 3500 calls for 4^3 Feet, and a port Length of 21". Am I wrong here in thinking the current box will not work with the DD?

I hate to build a new box right now and just need to upgrade my sub to something thats not crap. But I don't want to mess a great sub with a small box.

The box volume is fine, but your port is too small. Also, how is your port 17" tall with 19" and 17.5" as your two possible box heights?

Redo your design and shoot for somewhere in the 55-65in^2 of port. Don't get caught up in the 21" port length stuff, since the length needed with vary depending on volume, port area, and tuning.

Those are the measurements I just got when I went out to the truck. I'll recheck the dimensions at work tomorrow morning.

I was afraid of the port issue. I'll start looking for something lower end maybe with less demand on port size.

I need my back seat to function lol and thats a little over my daily driver hobby setup I'm going for lol.
Would be interesting to have that setup and watch my doors shake off the hinges lol.
I figured it was far-fetched, but thought I'd give it a try. I walled my buddy's 2dr Tahoe with a pair of 18's and it was beastly, even with just a couple thousand watts. I like your idea for four 10's though.

Crap forgot the tape this morning.

I'll remeasure when I get to the house before it gets too dark.

I'm beginning to like the 4 10s idea, mainly due to not seeing many 4 10 setups in my area. It's a small town but I've seen a lot of 2 12 or 2 15 setups and some 4-6 12s in suvs. Hopefully the 10s will do the job for daily pounder.

Amp died on me this morning lol. Not sure what yet, main power fuse is still good but the 2 70 fuses at the amp might be the problem. running 1 ohm unstable might be the reason...

Have you done any electrical upgrades? Do you notice your lights dimming at night?
No I already had a Big 3 finished. I switched out my HU last night and did a test run to redo the amp settings. It worked fine last night with sonic all the way down, lpf all the way up and gain maybe mid way. Drove to work with it thumping a little and when I got in it at lunch it was dead. The other amp is just fine so It's either I fried it, fuse blew, or cable issue from the battery?

Actually I wonder if my remote wire is loose from the HU switch, well no because the other amp is working and its remote is on the same line. Meh I'll try to find out in a few hours when I get to the house lol. Just my luck I popped an amp instead of a sub lol.
