Crutchfield spkr fitting Guide??

Just wondering if that guide is accurate because i want some type -r alpine component and speakers, but it sais they wont fit in my car. and they alow some other 6 1/2 speakers? would they fit even through they are not there in the list?

Probably says they won't fit because of depth, which can be fixed by making a spacer.

you can make one, or the alpine may come with one, my Type X's do.

So i could just buy any speakers as long as they are the size of the factory ones? ex ( OE is 6 1/2, so i can buy any speaker that is 6 1/2 , and fit in my car easy)?

Yes,

if they are to large you can make a baffle out of 1/2" MDF

Crutchfield is a great site, but that tool for telling you what fits does truly ****....

type r's dont come with a spacer, break out a measuring tape and check the depth you have in ur door, then check the specs of the type rs

i have factory 6x9 in rear, i took a piece of 8x11 MDF and cut a ~6" hole and mounted my CDTs and bolted the MDF onto the rear deck.

you can make them fit.

Crutchfield is great for OEM sized replacements. You can't just buy any 6.5 speaker. It may be too deep unless you use a spacer.
