Most people don't look into inflation though.

People determining whether they want to invest, spend, or borrow seems like an educated decision from a person who understands economics.

Since you are more normal than me, do you consider future prices when making purchases?
When gasoline prices are volatile, do you fill up or buy a small amount each time.

I asked my parents and they said that is the last thing on their mind and I should focus on more important things like cleaning off the stairs.

i did get into a big arguement one time only to realize we where saying the same thing with different words. I sure made an *** of myself, but my professor liked me after that...he knew I fully understood the concept. It was dealing with options trading.

Well, it actually depends on the amount of money that I posses at the current time. If I feel that gas prices are going to continue to rise. I just fill it up. If I dont, I'm fine with smaller quantities.

I think most people will only consider the short term supply vs. demand pricing(can't think of a more technical name for this atm), like in the case of the release of a new iPod or game console.

It's the University of Chicago...and has one of the best economics departments in the world. 2 clark medal winners and I think 3 nobel prize winners teach there.
