x^24 = x^8 * x^8 * x^8 so the cube root of x^24 is x^8

you're using the exponent rule that says they are added though rather than multiplied correct? Couldn't you just use the rule that tiger described and divide 24 by 3? I mean it's the same thing but I like tigers way better, it's simpler.
