Crossovers, Need some help.

x overs, i no what they do but do i need one? What is it for? Highs, mids, subs. What? Even if my amp has a built in x over do i still need one or what.Just for running subs.

x-over will distribute frequency's. If you are running components or different freq. range speakers off the same amp its a good idea to have one inline with the speakers so ur highs arnt trying to play mid's, vice versa. You wont need another one if ur amp has one (for subs).
