Crossovers! how R they made?

I saw in a mag somewhere, a set of homeade crossovers that were made from coils. The guy said they costed him less than $15 to make but he didnt say how it was done. Does n-e 1 know how to make cheap crossovers?

This would also be a good question for http://www.soundillusions.net Advanced Topic section. I'd search first, though. I know there are a couple guys on there make their own crossovers.

Here is a pic of a simple x-over, that apparently works pretty well. My speakers aren't installed yet so I can't say for sure.
