Crossover help

Hi! I am looking for some info on a crossover that would work well with the setup I have so far. Here it is:

Tweeters-Morel MDT37 (8ohms)

Midrange-Image Dynamics CX64 (4ohms)

Amplifier-Nakamichi PA-1004 (200x2 bridged(at 4ohms), 50x4(at 4 ohms))

Crossover(s)-???

I have heard good things about Audiocontrol crossovers but I just want as much feedback on crossovers as possible. If anyone has any other help on improvements I would need to make to my setup, any input is appreciated.

Pity is right Coustic makes some good X-overs. AudioControl makes some of the best crossovers. It all depends on what your demands are in a crossover. MTX used to make a hell of a crossover (LSX-2) but they don't make it anymore so I would say go with AudioControl or Coustic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

P.S. If this post doesn't make sense its because I'm hammered and I apologize in advance. Good night. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif

you're putting the Crossover between the amp and the speaker/tweeter right?

you should be using a passive crossover then, i don't think the ones mentioned above are passive, AudioControl doesnt make a passive crossover that i'm aware of

since the speakers you're using aren't a set, you need to make a custom crossover or have one made for you

No, I think he means an "active" crossover but he's just a little confused.

Also, kind of a stupid question, will I need 2 of the crossovers (one for each speaker right and left)?
No, you only need one crossover which will have left and right channels.

ok well maybe you guys are right but he has Morel tweets and ID mids which means that is not a set and so he does need a crossover to divide the frequencies between those two

if he has a 4 channel amp...he's going active....

that coustic xm5 rocks....i have one.....very nice unit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So I should go with an active crossover with a bandpass. I will look into the coustic and audiocontrol. I honestly am a little confused because because the previous components ive used already had crossovers with the kit. Im trying to do something different by going custom and I was a little confused at what I would use for a crossover. Thanks for all of the help so far!
