criss angel - walking on water

edit: The bold part is exactl why you don't reveal others' illusions and effects. The audience, no matter how much they say "do it again" or "how'd you do that", they do NOT want to know how it's done, they want to believe that you're legit. And once you see how simple and cheap the trick is, you're disappointed and think "well that's pretty stupid now that I see how simple it is".
I hear you on that. I guess I just gave him too much credit. I of course don't ever believe that any tricks are 'real', but I get my enjoyment out of what lengths they go to, to make it appear legit. I can honestly say that I thought he was one of the few that actually had more up his sleeves than camera edits.

Jesus people, he is an illusionist!

I betcha all you people that believe in him, believe in aliens too?

I personally don't even think he is a good illusionist. He generally always does small crowds and people are always in on it.

TV, OMG it has to be real!

To the person that seen it with his two own eyes of him floating in air, then ha, the joke is on you bud.

Angel's walking was done on transparent struts. The positioning of them allows people to swim around him and also allows him to drop a shoe in between any of the struts. You'll notice no one ever swims directly below where his feet touch.

People who believe magic are funny. You go watch someone who is saying up front "I'm going to trick you" and when they do, you get upset that you were tricked or believe that the illusion is real.

I prefer small tricks because they showcase the real skill of the magician, rather than the complexity of the engineering. That's why I love sleight of hand magic the most....Penn Jillette is awesome.

Word mang................just word!

And this is exactly why I hate Criss Angel. If you're a good illusionist like a Copperfield or Pendragon, then fine. Otherwise, leave that shit to the experts.

who is to say what is possible ???? look at the shit that guy does he does alot of things 'imposible" i seen it with my own two eyes from all angles NO strings attached in a open area with a small crowd it was only about 3-4 feet in the air but he floated what you chose to belive is up to you
To quote the astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson in Death By Black Hole;

"And without violating momentum laws, you cannot spontaneously levitate and hover above the ground, whether or not you are seated in the lotus position. Although, in principle, you could perform this stunt if you managed to let loose a powerful and sustained exhaust of flatulence."

If David Blaine has figured out how to violate some of the basic laws of physics, he could be doing a hell of a lot more with his life than street magic. I'd venture to say he'd be the most famous and wealthy man on this planet if he ever figures out that bit of "magic".......

Come on squeak, let 'em believe what they want.

Blaine does two different levitations:

1. Balducci levitation which relies on the viewing angle

2. A false levitation using wires

What they do is, he performs the balducci levitation and gets their reaction, THEN he does the false one and they show the false one on TV after they realize it's fake, but then play their initial reaction.

i dont belive anything i see on TV but i do KNOW what I saw with my own two eyes !!!

hehe, i did the Balducci levitation on my vid cam a couple yrs ago then took it to work and let people watch it.

Most of the girls were freakin out, i was laughin so hard because one girl thought i was gifted with powers, lol.

I wanted to do it for them in person but i never had the time to perfect it enough to attempt to do that so i never did.

And that ultimately is the point of magic. I know how he does his tricks, and for you, that means I know that he can do the impossible, so I'll leave it at that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i can't believe some people actually believe he can walk on water. seriously people, it's staged, produced, edited and designed so that you willl believe it, their or on TV.

It's not "spur of the moment" in any way.

It is the cheapest illusion I've seen in my life, and believe me, I've seen some shitty magic. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
