i used channel locks for crimping mine

clamp,

twist the knob to make it tighter

and repeat till you cant do it no more

I bought one of these... I just got it in the mail today. I did my install a few days ago and all I used was a vice and a pipe to put a lot more torque on the vice than I could with my hand. (I bought this after my install) I tried it out today and works really well and not a bad price compared to buying the big crimpers and also a lot of other hammer lug crimper things are more expensive than this one.

i just got one of those in the mail the other day as well. got mine for a little less at weldingsupply.com. click here and search the page for "04040". shipping was 7.50 to houston so i figured i'd get my moneys worth and got some of the 1/0 copper lugs as well. those bastards are hefty...maybe too much. haven't had a chance to use them yet.

i got some from my dads shop when his company got bought out he had tons of cool shit i got like 3 DMMs a set of those and a spool of 8gauge i think (not the best wire but it works)

the reason why i asked was cause i bought one similiar but payed $45 for a local shop (the installer sold it to me bnib)guess i got ripped for a few bucks.

I use bigass vice grips for crimping. I'm getting one of those crimp tools though.
