AMP: Profile AP1000M
SUB: 12" Kicker CVR
1999 ford taurus
using a LOC that came with my amp (see pic below)
When I originally hooked everything up, with the amp settings all on default (0) it worked fine (once I tweaked it eg: turn up the gain). all was good for a few days until I disconnected everything to make sure I had everything wired correctly. I found out I had the left/right speaker connections wrong (which wouldnt even make much of a difference but I wanted them right) so I switched them. no biggie.
upon hooking everything back up the sub would not work, with the gain all the way up and HU volume up the sub would barely move. It would work, just only at like 1%.
I bought a new LOC from best buy (see bottom pics) and hooked it up, everything works great again.
I thought my original LOC that came with my amp went bad so I had profile send me a new one. I then hooked that up and got the same problem again. So its not the LOC i don't think.
Heres how I had it wired with the original LOC:
I have my speaker wires connected to the LOC, which is connected to the RCA inputs on the amp.
the LOC closeup:
Heres how I have it wired right now where everything works great:
Any ideas what would be causing this problem? why the first LOC doesnt work (when it did at first) and the 2nd LOC works fine?
thanks!
