No, in fact, I'm not. I've only just started to poke around the insides of amps, as of a couple months ago...My buddy is teaching me about internals, but he lives about 30min away so I don't go over there often.
Everyone has to start somewhere fucktard.

I suggest you look at the amplifier repair primer over at Basic Car Audio Electronics

Then do some reading on amp design/diy building at DIY Audio Articles

i might be getting some pretty cool stuff from nateberrier. He ran into a mobile ES flagship deck and changer. only thing that ***** is its a cassette deck. but it's still pretty awesome. If i get it , i'm gonna put it up till i can find a mobile ES crossover but those f'ing x overs go for big bucks , so it may be awhile before i can get one. It would make a killer old school SQ setup though.

Go for it. Stand out from the crowd. I don't understand why 95% of the people on this forum want to run the same old shiz. Sundown, Sundown, AP, Discus, Sundown, etc. I find no joy in running something that everyone and their mother owns. I'm guessing you feel the same.

Don't tell people what you are running. Demo it first. Let them guess. I'll be running o/s Earthquake subs and amps, and I still haven't decided on speakers yet. I have yet to see anyone here running o/s EQ in their cars...
