couple amp questions

ok lets say i bought a 2 channel amp to amp my two front components, both 4ohm (using the passive crossover). would my only option be to wire them + to + on the amp and - to - on the amp, because they are single voice coils? if this is true, does everyone run their components or coaxials in 4 ohms? or can you buy the speakers with 2 voice coils or already built 2 ohm?

If your components are 4ohm you can only wire them to 4ohm. You would have to buy 2ohm components or add another 4ohm set to get a 2ohm load. Does that answer your question?

I would say most people just run 4 ohm speakers in front, but as it's been mentioned, there are some 2 ohm options.

Personally - I run 4 ohm components, but I use a bridged 4 ch amp which means my lowly 50x4 amp provides 200x2 to my front stage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

so theres no way to wire both speakers in parallel to give the amp a 2ohm reading? kinda like this maybe?

and would the amp be able to power a speaker at 4 ohms on one channel, and a tweeter at 8 ohms on the other channel at the same time without any problems?
