I am in the process of installing a new head unit for my 1998 Lexus GS300. The headunit is the JVC KD-AVX2. A few weeks ago I took of one of the rear door panels to see how many ohms the speaker is, and it said 4ohm. Since that meant I could use the headunit to amp to power it I ordered the head unit (I will upgrade to a new four channel amp and componets in the next month or so)
so my question is...
yesterday I took the front door panel off and the speaker said 2ohm. But... it looks like the tweeter is wired into the speaker somehow. I don't know if there is a cross over or not.. the tweeter wires plug into the housing that the speaker is in. So could it be that the tweeter is wired in series (or is it parallel?) to the stock speaker making the stock speaker 2ohm? Or should I just get a DMM to test it out? Thanks!
