Cop car destroyed my bass ride

My vehicle is the Jeep up on the flatbed. The police spike stripped their own car, he side swiped me coming head on at 80 MPH and threw my car out into the desert, then he hit another vehicle. The police allowed myself and another vehicle to drive right into their spike operation and didn’t stop either of us. It just looked like a normal crime scene on the side of the road. As I drove up to pass the scene I witnessed a police officer throw out a spike strip. I’ve never been so confused. I actually thought he was spiking me for some unknown reason, then a police SUV with the cherries and lights on came screaming through at a super high rate of speed and was spiked about 50 feet directly in front of me. I was able to get my front end off the road somewhat so it wasn’t a direct hit head on crash. I had just made a new enclosure for my 15 and was setting up my amps for an audio show in 2 weeks, but my vehicle is totaled and my car is evidence in a crime now. Fun times for all down here on the border….

That sucks man...hope you alright and they make you whole again on your ride
I’m fine, but my insurance isnt going to cover my Jeep, and since the sherrifs vehicle wasn’t being driven by a county employee, and was used in the commission of a crime, the sheriffs department isn’t covering it either. I think they made a big mistake by not making it right with me. i would’ve been fine with just being squared and covering my property damage. Now I have acquired an attorney who is happy as a pig in sh1t to take this case.

Did you call Saul?

Those are the best honestly...nothing better than a money motivated attorney
They literally let 2 vehicles drive through a spike strip operation on a narrow 2 lane road, then proceeded to spike strip their own vehicle that they allowed to get stolen. The truck that got rear ended had an 11 year old girl in it. The news coverage on it is pathetic and wildly incomplete.

I'm glad you're okay. If you have any back or neck soreness, I'd get that checked out. Whiplash and spinal injuries can feel minor, but end up dogging you for a lifetime. Sounds like some incompetence on the part of the police. Good luck with lawsuit.

Oh yeah. I’m fine. I have a very good sense for when I’m only hurt and when I’m injured. The lawyers are still going to send me in. My body has been fvcked up numerous times. I only have 3 ribs and 16 vertebrae left to achieve Evil Knievel status. Lol. My MRIs usually turn into pretty good conversations

There was just a maniac lady very recently in Orlando area that stole a cop car and killed herself and 2 others crashing it.
damn. It seems to happen often actually. The police here are underfunded and overworked. My daughters condo complex in the city had a shootout going on with swat last night. She had to go sleep at her in-laws house because it was locked down when she tried to go home from work. This is not the worst area in Tucson either where she lives. next to a hospital in a decent neighborhood. I live outside the city about 12 miles and it’s like the wild fvcking west out here now. It’s gotten insane fast. There are major police raids and investigations out here constantly now. I woke up one morning a few weeks ago and heard what ended up being flash bang explosions and a police bullhorn blaring a recorded message for the inhabitants of that address to come outside. These large 1 acre + lots are cartel/cartel affiliates dream properties.

There are police shortages everywhere. The loss of qualified immunity is a big deal.

The pendulum did a swing too far in the direction of letting police abuse people and now it’s swinging too far in the other direction of not protecting the men and women who are good cops. I’m not sure how the attorneys are going to work my case, but the police on the scene were respectful and professional. I have a problem with the procedures they used by not blocking oncoming traffic with one of the 20 officers they had there, but after the fact they were all decent, even with the burglary suspect who stole their car. They even wheeled the douchebag right by me on the gurney on scene. I was thinking at the time that they shouldn’t have don that either. If I were a person who couldn’t control his anger, I may have broken his face as he was wheeled by. Lots of things about this deal point to inexperience and lack of training.

Any police abuse is inexcusable, however, I don't think cops were getting away anything when there was evidence. IMHO, the decision in the Floyd case was horrible. Yes, the optics were bad, but Floyd was not choked out by the officer. The knee to the back of the neck is specifically to avoid cutting off blood flow to the brain or airflow to the lungs. If I knew a similar situation or defending myself with a gun could result in murder charges, I'd quit the force ASAP.

Seen a lot of police abuse in Denver. District 6 is one of the worst. I lived on 14th and Washington and witnessed quite a bit of police brutality and unprofessional behavior from the same officers over and over back in the early 2000s. The Guardian Angels (the red beret guys) had a huge presence back then walking the streets to stop crime and and also to curb the police abuse problems. It was definitely an issue in most cities.
