The end of last semester, my friends and I went out to this park at about 11 at night. It's a really cool place where you can sit on this bigass rock and overlook the White River. It was a nice night... chilly and clear, and we were all out there with cigars and pipes, chilling, bringing an end to the semester. Good times. So, we see a car come into the park (about 200 yards away, through some trees) and we didn't sweat it, because people go there and *** it up all the time.
Well, the car stops behind mine, and the dreaded a-pillar light comes on. The cop gets out of the car and starts looking through the windows of my van with his maglight. Well, we figured the cop would see that no one was having *** in my car and move along. Instead, 2 more cop cars show up. Shit. So, I figure it's in our best interest to just go introduce ourselves.
Well, we walk over to the cops, and the first thing they say is "Y'all been smoking pot? I smell it reeeeeaaaaallly strong." I show them my pipe, and that I've only been smoking tobacco, as do a few other friends. Once they realized we hadn't been smoking pot, they asked if we were students, and we said yes. "Well then why couldn't you read the sign that says the park closes at dark?" I said "Well, we may be illiterate, but we're not dumb enough to go smoke pot out here."
They got a good laugh out of it, and had pretty well figured out we were just out there chilling. So, we spent another 10 minutes or so just kickin it with the cops. We were talkin to em about where we were from and what we were going to do over the break. They told us what they got their kids for Christmas and stuff. It was pretty cool cuz we just hung out with cops.
They just told us to leave, because the park was closed.
