Converting to a new brand

I would love to help you but I like all my RF amps never had a single problem out of any of them(T1000.1bd,P200.2,T400.2,T600.2) and my next is going to be the T2500.1bd, what went so wrong that you have given up on a brand entirely that may be a little steep in price but is always a solid product that is going to do more then rated every time ?

The RF amps have a built in equalization or boost that's very annoying for mids and highs and at times can be a little piercing to the ear. When I installed my DD C4 I could hear a more balanced (flat) sound from the amp that isn't so harsh to my ears. The bass is good however I am not one to mismatch amps.

I have my T600.2 on my mb quart comps and they sound amazing and I have the eq knob ran it helps the music sound much more full when it's only 1/8-1/4 of the way up anymore then that is just trashing the speakers.

I am converting over to DD after using RF for so many years. It's a weird transition for me to do this after using RF for 20 years. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.
I have some advice: quit thinking the brand name is so important. Sticking with one brand for 20 years? Acting like you need someone to hold your hand while you switch brands? Weird shit mang.

And, RF amps do not have some built in equalization that makes mids sound weird. Id like to see any evidence to the contrary. And no, your ears dont count as any form of proof what so ever.

Someone did have some evidence of one model RF with what appears to be a purposeful bump of color in lower frequencies. I didn't care much when I saw it and cannot verify the source, but I will try to find it and add to this discussion if it looks beneficial.

So all settings between the two amplifiers were identical? Power output was the exact same? Sounds to me like your buying into the voo doo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

RF vs PG, The Real Deal!

I find that testing to be questionable at best. All testing was done by ear. And by an ear whom offered no qualifications for his subjective opinions presented as facts. Also, he repeated multiple times the amps were set 'flat'. Uhm, no they weren't, they were level-matched for output (obviously not level matched at the frequency he claims was artificially boosted). If the amps were set 'flat', an EQ and RTA would have been involved. No mention of even attempting an anechoic environment, verifying the other equipment in his test setup by way of "all my buddies say it plays flat", and "Mom" was his most revealing judge. The entire thing smacks of a highschool science project. Lastly, even if his conclusions are accurate, its one model out of dozens and even hundreds that RF has offered over the years.

I guess that wasn't the test he was thinking of. I'll keep looking //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
