When I took the rubber off the magnet there were no bolt heads so I assume it was not attached with bolts. I have a Q into Focal to confirm this but the US operation does not usually seem very responsive to customers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Several people spoke of CA glue. What is that? Secondly, will I need to find a way to hold pressure between the magnet and base plate while the glue is curing?

Ca glue is just a type of glue. The type i use is for gluing tires to rims on rc cars.

ca glue is superglue, with an accelerator. I personally would use 2 minute epoxy, and hold it on there with my hand while playing it so that you know your not gonna get any bad noises when it finishes.

thats a focal speaker? wouldn't expect any problems like that from a well known company like that.

Yeah and your gonna have to make sure the motor is lined up right and the coil gap is right or it is gunna rub

lay the speaker cone side down and the voice coil standing straight up.

get some extra strenght 2 part epoxy, found at home depot or an auto parts.

something like this

get a 20-30 minute setting one.

mix up the epoxy then pour a bead of the glue close to the outer rim of the top plate(the plate still on the basket)

after you set the glue you sit the magnet/motor on. align it as best as you can. witht he weight of the magnet it should be suffecient to clamp itself down. if you want you can sit something on top of the magnet for additional weight. let it sit for 6-12 hours.

make sure you try to remove all of the old glue base so you get good contact for the new glue.

MickeyB -- I assume you mean to not have the copper colored ring, in the 1st pic, touching any part of the magnet.
