Considering Alpine PDX-5

Hello I recently purchased a Pioneer avh head unit, Focal polyglass 165Vr components, & Polyglass 165cvx coaxials. The speakers both sets run at 70 75 RMS. I already have a RF P550 running 2 10" MTX subs. I was considering the ALPINE PDX-5 amp. to run the Focals. I am no expert in this stuff so was looking for advice on is this the Amp to go with? Also what is needed to run two amps? I truly am picking this amp based on the RMS power for the speakers. ANy help or advice is appreciated.

Anybody with knowledge?

I just want to know if the Alpine PDX-5 is the right amp I should go with for my set up or should I be looking at something else?

The PDX5 is a 5 channel amp. You would only need a 4 channel amp. To run two amps you will need a set of 4 channel RCA's, a fused distro block for the power wire and a non fused distro for the ground wire and a few more feet of power and ground.

Thx. whitedragon551

PDX 5 is a 5 channel so would it be wrong to use? I'm sorry I'm just itching to get this system installed and need to pull the trigger on a amplifier asap. Does anybody have any recommendations on 4 channel amps that have 70 to 75wx4 RMS a 4ohms?

A 5 channel would work. You could sell your RF P550 and run your subs on the sub channel and your speakers on channel 1-4. In order to tell what impedence you would wire your subs to though we need to know the model number.

2 Single 4 ohm speakers wires to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. Youd want to run at 2 ohms.

The PDX5 is rated for 300@2 on the sub channel, but its under rated. You wont be able to audibly hear a difference between ~400@2 and 600@2 on your sub channel.
