Confused on CDT...What to get

The Cdt Cl comps will sound just fine off true 75 watts of rms power, my bother was running them off his HU before he got his amp and that was only producing 20 watts rms or so to them and they sounded very nice.

Exactly. I don't know who is putting 150 watts per channel to a set of 6.5" in free air/door installations but I can almost bet they are crossed over too high.

i love my CDTs...150rms to each side. they get loud! and sound clear...and are well worth it the $. i got a steal on mine for 170 shipped. i'd buy the CDTs but only because i run them and know how awesome they sound...

with 200W rms i'd say run 3 ways you will not be dissapointed!

i had some cdt ef carbon fiber mid series. bought from Djdilliondon for 220 shipped. those were some nice speakers imo. powered with a bridgd orion 4004. 200 watts per speaker and they are crystal clear uptil the very top. i now have the boston pro 60's which off 300 watts sound good but dont even get as loud as my cdt's did with 100 less watts. but they do sound a TINY bit better imo.

i have pro 60s as well but not installed. i like My CDTs better. as far as sq i have a hard tiem determining which sound better. i tried my best to do a good compairson of them both installed in the same car same amp same day. picked 10 different tracks etc. at the end of it all i thought my CDTs got louder and sounded better..but it's not as easy as black and white.

Anyways the poster should get the CDTs(get the 6.5s make them fit. it's worth it)

edit: give them as close to 150rms as you can.

75rms is not really going to push the CDT's but it'll work. I have about 70rms actively to my M6 and am probably going to up it to 100rms active. I've used the HD's and had about 200rms on them and they did very well with it but they need to have a better deadening on it. But I prefer the CDT's with upgraded tweeters.
