OK, so by doing the big 3, and having say a 200 amp alt instead of a stock 80 amp like on my neon and having extra battery's, then my electrical system will be more "stable" and have more standing voltage resulting in better output or higher volts to a point...hence making my amps produce more power then it would on a stock electrical system...correct?

correct

good rule of thumb, multiply amps times volts to figure out watts, so an 80 amp alt should be good up to around 1000 watts esp if you do the big 3.

a 200 amp alt should be good up to around 2500 watts

You can also get 16 volts by wiring two 8 volt batteries together in parallel

how come i get more volts when its in the morning? Does that mean that my alternator is small or something causing it preforms better after have a super long break over night? When i crank up in the morning and on the 5 min ride to school i get a constant 14.4v even with my system as loud as i turn it. When i crank up after school being in there for 8 hrs. I crank up with like 13.8v and it fluctuates from about 13.3-13.8v.

it's called everything is cold. less heat = less resistance, less resistance = more powa!

i was wondeing bout that 16v i was gonna set my volts on the external voltage reg and get this diode and hook that to the external to reg 12 to the trucks electrical. i have moded hc2400s with the extra posts to wire 16 or 18 volts in series. has anyone hurd of being able to run just one alt with diodes from the ext reg for the 12v?

ill say its better then someone askin why thier cars 16volt or 24 volt or somethin cause it says so on the side of the car.....lol....
