ok.....

so i have 2 15" Fi BTLs in a 2006 maxima.....AB 500.1 for power....my electrical system has a 200A Alt, 2 2400's and a 1400 kinetik under the hood...

i recently put in an alpine 9887 and since then my output went WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy down. i readjusted the gains just now with a voltmeter, around 70V.....and it barely hits, ive got the setting on the HU MX 3...sub level 15 eq on the low bands +6 and it barely hits....

really, my old setup with 2 12" mags + sundown 1500 hit harder then this. its like playing stock subs......any ideas what is wrong here?!!!

i checked the ohms with the DMM by turning off car and putting it on the speaker wire to amp....it showed .8-1.......

the box is over 7cubes after everything....tuned in low 30s....fiberglass resin inside....

what else cud i change on the amp to fix it.....ss is set, lpf is set.....im out of ideas

put it all down to .5 ohm and watch it blow

One cancelling the other out. Make sure your are wired properly.

Really sounds like you got one of the wires backwards to me.

think i shud pull subs out and rewire?.....i didnt do the initial wiring....a shop did....

or just the + and - going into amp

yes man you need too, "the shop" is the only place that wires my subs wrong(**** near every ****ing time)

well i trust these guys b/c they are both big competitors here in florida.....

sum1 told me a test to try bout the wiring, with a 9v battery and seeing which way they pop, im about to try that right now

did the little 9v battery thing with the + and - speaker wires.....they both popped out....so the wires shudnt be switched......im all out of ideas here!!!

did the shop build the box for you ? or did you build the box yourself?

the gains are set now, higher then they should but its hitting fine and it takes a good while to smell anything...

i took the dash apart, the hu is in there pretty tight, i dont see what else i could do, oh well, going to get the ipod cord in a few
